This is a wonderful place to stay. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. The facilities for breakfast and relaxing are superb, with views across the valley. A short footpath starting from the driveway leads to an extensive and beautiful network of disused railway lines. Perfect for walking the dog away from traffic. I felt perfectly relaxed here and would happily visit again.

We booked the entire place for a girls weekend and could not have asked for more. Kaye was friendly, warm and accommodating throughout the booking and check in process and I felt welcome when I arrived. It’s a great base for central Durham, less than a 10 minute drive/taxi to the main shops, sights and restaurants. The accommodation itself was perfect for what we needed - spacious, well equipped and cosy. The hot tub and the sauna well a welcome added bonus too!

Great little place, beautiful views and walkable into Durham if you are relatively mobile - if not there's an easy bus. Room was clean and comfortable and the owners were very responsive to any queries, and were very accomodating in helping arrange access to the room despite my very late arrival time. There was a good selection for the self service breakfast and a lovely view. Would not hesitate to stay here again if visiting Durham and the surrounding areas. Reasonably priced room too - only a little more than the basic chain hotels, and considerably nicer in every way. Thanks for a great stay and see you next time :)

Spent one night at My Way Guest House. Very relaxed atmosphere.Small but clean room, and self-serve continental breakfast, which was fine. Best of all though was the Bridle Way on the doorstep, leading to railway paths and footpaths down the valley. Our dog had a better time than us!

We stopped off at My Way Guest House to break our journey from the south of England to Scotland. We booked based on the many positive reviews and competitive pricing. The room was excellent - very clean, well furnished. The bathroom was large and had the best (powerful) shower I have experienced for some time. Breakfast was help yourself buffet style with a great range of options available. We were given a friendly welcome and some useful advice on where to eat, park etc. Overall, we were very happy with our choice and would certainly book My Way again if we are staying in the area.

We stayed here for 3 nightson a self-catering basis and it was perfect.Lovely well-equipped rooms and kitchen, and it was a bonus to be able to use the hot tub surrounded by beautiful countryside! Also easy to get in to Durham by bus as we didn't have cars. Would definitely recommend.

This was the perfect location for a group of ladies visiting Durham for the weekend. The bedroom set-up was just right and having full use and privacy of the kitchen/lounge area worked well. The hot tub was a nice treat and we appreciated having a robe and towels in each bedroom (the towels were the fluffiest ever). All very clean and welcoming.Walk into Durham is all on pavement - but narrow pavement at times and a busy road - takes approx 50 mins.

My Way was a great find: my room (Bede) was very cosy, beautifully appointed-a double room with TV and a lovely, large and very well stocked en suite. Each room has their own tea/coffee facilities but not the usual ‘hotel pack’, much more homely than that. There’s a guests’ lounge with TV, sofas and a self-service kitchen/breakfast area with everything I needed (including fresh milk - thank you!!). Informal, but very well catered. Just what I needed.Host Kay is there on hand without being intrusive - lovely to chat to over a breakfast cuppa.I’ve got to say - beautiful location, just 10 mins drive from Durham.I’ve bookmarked My Way for future reference!

The room was spacious enough for 2 with the double bed provided .There was an extra bed and a foldaway in addition. An assortment of coffees , teasand biscuits + kettle was provided in the room. The bedroom and en-suite bathroom were clean , modern and nicely presented. There was a kitchen/dining /lounge area accessed via the patio with Fresh fruit and breakfast included in the price. Beautiful views from the bedroom ,patio and lounge of the countryside . The bedroom was quite cold. Other than this, no complaints. The area was quiet and the hostess v nice and easily accessible.A 10-15 min drive away from Durham Univ. Colleges and the city centre. The pub at the mini roundabout a few mins. drive from the guest house has v tasty meat pies and a great glass of Chardonnay (if not driving)! We enjoyed our visit. Thank you Kay.

Stayed here for one night with husband and daughter in 2 rooms. The owner Kay met us on arrival and showed us to our lovely rooms. The whole place was spotless and the views are fantastic. The breakfast was all laid out in the morning for us to help ourselves, plenty of choice. I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again. Thanks to Kay for a great stay. Durham itself is also a fabulous City.

At the end of a very hot day at the cricket in Chester-le-Street, we greatly appreciated the facilities of My Way and its tranquil setting. Our bedrooms were excellent; we enjoyed sitting in the garden for a late night drink; and the self-service buffet breakfast suited our needs very well. We hope to return.

Greeted by the owner and shown to our room for our 2 night stay, (the Cuthbert room) we were very impressed with the quality of items in the room. It was spotlessly clean, the bed was extremely comfy. The bathroom was wonderful, with a choice of taking a bath or having a very powerful shower. The breakfast room was very well equipped, with an amazing choice of breakfast food. The view from our bedroom window was stunning. We cannot fault our stay at all. Had a lovely 2 night stay here. The Bede room was clean and cosy, with desk and area to hang up clothes, bathrobes also provided (we didn't use). The bathroom much bigger than expected with towels/toiletries supplied. Breakfast was very relaxed "pick your own" with a lovely view out, was also nice that it's only a short walk from each room (a bungalow setting). We got to meet the horses and dogs that live on-site, all very welcoming as were the owners. Location is lovely and peaceful as away from the road, and nice pathways nearby if you want a nice walk. Our room did get a little bit warm after we'd used the bathroom, but nothing that opening the window/door didn't sort out. The room's window does face out onto the hallway so other guests can walk by but wasn't a problem for us as all friendly.Would definitely recommend My Way Guest House to others and use ourselves again when visiting Durham.Helpful info for future visitors, look out for the brown road sign which is right opposite the driveway in. Plenty of room to park. If, like us, you plan to eat out in Durham be sure to book a taxi a good time in advance. Its only a 10 drive away and didn't cost us more than £8 each way.

Stayed just one night for the Durham Miners gala, lovely, peaceful place. Only a 10 minute bus ride from Durham centre, 2 miles away. Friendly, accomodating owners. Highly recommended!

Thankyou for the lovely stay at your Guest House, we found it lovely and clean, comfortable beds, friendly hosts and a lovely breakfast. As we had trouble finding it from the street maybe a good idea to put a notice at the beginning of the public footpath. :)

I would thoroughly recommend this amazing guest house which is situated in the country side not far from the heart of Durham City. The room was sparkling clean and very comfortable with a decked patio overlooking the garden and stable which could be used for enjoying the evening sun. Definitely a place to return to when visiting this area.

WE enjoyed out stay at Mt Way Guest House. The room & bed was very comfortable and despite the temperamental hot water machine, the breakfast was very good. We were well looked after and the views from the breakfast room were wonderful.Good to have the tea, coffee, hot chocolate & shortbreads just outside the room. The bathroom could do with a hook to hamg clothes on, otherwise everything is there that is needed.

We absolutely loved this place. The rooms are decorated beautifully with good facilities and our hosts were very friendly. The stunning views of the hillside and fields from our bedroom was a particular highlight, and the same views could be enjoyed from the breakfast room. We had use of the terrace and large back garden, plus our little boy made friends with the little dog. No cooked breakfast but the range of cereal, fruit, pancakes, muffins, etc. easily met our needs. Will visit again.

We had a one night stay here whilst visiting our son and daughter at university. it's just a couple of miles out of Durham so really handy. The bedroom and bathroom were very well equipped and spotlessly clean. The bed was extremely comfortable and we had a great nights sleep. I contacted Kaye to ask if she would be able to provide a gluten free breakfast and she was happy to oblige. I would recommend a stay here and would love to come again

We had a great stay at Kaye's bed and breakfast. The room had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. Kaye and Steve were very welcoming and made sure we had everything we needed. The self service breakfast looking over fields at the back of their house was a relaxing way to start the day.
